How to Select the Right Aliexpress Supplier

Hi guys! In this video we’re going to take the Aliexpress items we’ve identified and want to sell, and find the best supplier for them.

In this video, I’ll be using my guitar mug again as my example product. Now, there are many, many suppliers selling this exact coffee mug.

Here’s one supplier that’s selling it…

..and here are 3 more.

Not every item on Aliexpress is going to have top suppliers that meet our criteria, but many of the top selling products do.

And usually, these items are going to look pretty much identical, so we need to look at the supplier themselves when choosing between them.

And though you may find it strange for suppliers to casually just copy each others items, in China, it’s actually very normal.

In truth, these Chinese suppliers aren’t technically supposed to be copying each other, but there is no law to enforce this. So it’s impossible to ever really identify who made the original.

“Paypal HATES Dropshippers! They’ll freeze your account if your Dropshipping!”

There’s a lot of things you hear out there about Dropshipping, and this is one of them.

But I can tell you now, this is not true.

Paypal and Stripe don’t hate Dropshippers. What they do hate, is shady business practices.

They hate it when merchants like us, have unhappy customers.

What makes a unhappy customer?

  • If a customer orders an item but it doesn’t arrive within its expected time
  • If the quality or material of the item was poor

And what happens when a customer’s unhappy with their purchase? Refunds and chargebacks. Which is what Paypal and other credit card companies HATE.

Plus, on your side, it’ll give you a lot of headache when it comes to customer support.

So we need to make sure we find a supplier who we can trust, to prevent these things from happening.

Yes, chargeback, refunds, bans – may seem scary to some. But if you focus on finding suppliers who can provide an excellent buying experience, you won’t need to worry, and neither will your customers.

In fact, when customers do enjoy their buying experience, you’ll sure enough see them at your store again, and again, and again.

How to Pick a Supplier You Can Trust

Open up all of your chosen suppliers for your product, and see if each meet the following criteria:

1. They must have at least 50 orders

2. They have a product review score of $4.5 or higher

3. They have at least 50 reviews

4. They must provide ePacket delivery to the USA

Now we know what criteria to follow, here’s a quick demonstration on how to actually do this:

  1. Go to Aliexpress and search for your product.

2. Sort the items by orders.

3. Open up the first listing of your product. As you can see, our supplier here has 5883 reviews. A lot more than 50.

4. Check the product review score. Our supplier here also has 4.9 reviews – which exceeds our minimum of 4.5.

5. And it has a lot more than 50 orders. As you can see, it’s made over 8234 orders.

6. And to wrap it up, they also have ePacket delivery to the USA.

This a great supplier!

So do this for every supplier you’ve chosen, and identify which ones meet our criteria, and which ones don’t.

Something to keep an eye out for, are multiple listings from the same supplier. They do this to manipulate the search engine, and it can be really annoying.

When browsing for suppliers, ignore all of the ‘copycat’ listings, and focus on their biggest one, as that’s where you’ll be ordering from.

If you find that many suppliers do meet your criteria, here’s a quick 3-step funnel to narrow down and choose one.

#1: Which Supplier Sells Multiple, Relevant Items?

Remember my example store Brewed Treats? Let’s imagine a customers come to my store and bought our very, very familiar guitar mug.

While browsing, they also find our cat coffee mug – which they also love – so decide to buy that too.

Well, this creates a slight problem for us, if we used two different suppliers for each product.

Why? Because they’ll arrive separately in two different packages.

But this isn’t the end of the world. In fact, Amazon have actually normalized the idea of shipping out items separately – to make shipping times faster.

So, if this does happen to you in your own store – don’t panic. Just warn the customer that both items may arrive separately, to reduce shipping times.

But again, this is not the ideal. The ideal is that both products arrive in a single package.

To do this, we need to minimize the number of suppliers we use as much as possible. That way, 9/10, our customers orders will come as a single package.

And this is especially important for items that are upsells. Not only will this provide a better buying experience, but it will increase the chances of them coming back again.

To find all of the products your supplier is selling, follow these steps…

1. Go to your suppliers listing, and click the store’s name.

2. And on their store page, do a search for your niche.

Browsing through their products, I can obviously spot the guitar mug I want to sell as my front-end offer. But I can also see my upsell offer too – the cat coffee mug.

And this is great. This means then, that I can use this supplier to sell both products.

Keep in mind though, that your upsell product still meets the Dropship Club Supplier Criteria outlined above. In this case, our cat coffee mug clearly does.

Prioritize Sellers With Best Feedback

If you can’t find a supplier that sells multiple, relevant items (or perhaps they are, but not all meet the Dropship Club criteria), then use this as your deciding factor.

Some of you may feel tempted to use the lowest priced supplier. Now, while it can be tempting, remember it’s not a priority. And you can always discount prices down the more you sell in the long run.

Instead, think long-term profits. It’s better to choose a supplier you can trust than to cut your costs by a few cents.

And that’s it!
