Now that we’ve picked our niche, it’s time to pick a new name for our store.

This is a step many people get stumped with, because they try and pick the “perfect” name.

When really, it isn’t that big of a deal.

Let’s make it easier for you. Here’s a simple 4-step formula to follow when using a name for your store.

Step 1. Ensure it has a relevant key word in it

The easiest way to do this is to use your niche.

For example, later on I’ll be creating an Aliexpress Dropshipping store that sells coffee items and accessories.

And I’ll be calling it Brewed Treats.

But, I could have called it something similar like “Coffee Treats” – which also would have been simple yet highly effective.

Alternatively, you can pick a key word that is highly relevant in your niche and choose that for your store name.

For me, I chose the key word “Brewed”, because it has strong connotations with coffee and hot drinks.

The reason why you want to have a key word like this in your store name is because when people read it they can instantly see that it’s relevant to something they love.

Step 2. Add an exciting word to it

Next, you’ll want to take your key word from step 1, then add another word to it that creates a positive emotion in the customer.

For me, I attached the key word “Treats” to my name, as it implies the customer is going to get something special or something they’ll love.

Step 3. Keep it 2-3 words long

If your store name is 4+ words long, it’ll be clinky and too hard to remember.

Bottom line, keep it nice and short.

Step 4: Check to see that the domain name is free

Head over to NameCheap and type in your domain name into the search bar.

Hit search, then check to see if the domain name is still available.

If it is, great! You can now use this name. If it isn’t, easily come up with a new name using the previous steps.

NOTE: Only ever use .com! DO NOT use any other type of other domain including .net and .org.

And that’s it! To wrap up, here’s the four steps again:

  • Step 1. Ensure it has a relevant key word in it
  • Step 2. Add an exciting word to it
  • Step 3. Keep it 2-3 words long
  • Step 4. Check to see the domain name is free
